Private Justice Series 1
Reporter Moira Harrison knows what she saw that rainy night before she hit the brakes and lost control of her car. Because there’s no evidence when the police arrive, they blame it on her concussion and tell her she must have seen a deer. But Moira can’t forget the terrified eyes of the woman who appeared out of the night and her tenacity leads her to P.I. Cal Burke. With very little to go on, they work together to investigate, and the story that gradually takes shape shocks them both.
Irene Hannon does her usual great job of setting the stage for a suspenseful and engrossing read. Her characterizations are strong, and their faith has a strong impact on who they are. The story proceeds quickly and holds your attention throughout. Moira and Cal’s friendship grows as they work closely trying to understand what actually happened that night.
I’m always excited to see another Irene Hannon title and series hit the market, and Vanished did not disappoint. Besides being great entertainment it was also an interesting look into the workings of a high-end private investigator business. We’re introduced to Cal’s two partners, who will doubtless be the heroes of future books in the series. Based on Vanished, I am looking forward to reading them!
