Catch A Falling Star, a novel by Beth Vogt

Book Review by Trudi Cook

Catch a Falling Star tells the story of Dr. Kendall Hayes, who has reached the age of 36 and realizes that her marital dreams may not come true.  So when she’s out celebrating her birthday with her girlfriends, she’s not expecting anything to come of a chance meeting in the restaurant, as she responds to a medical crisis.

Griffin Walker’s life was just as he wanted it, until the solitary  Air Force pilot was grounded by a medical problem.  The sudden death of his parents makes him guardian of a 16 year old brother he barely knows, a situation that  frustrates him as he feels totally unsuited to be a parent and can’t wait until he’s able to fly again.  When Ian has a serious allergic reaction to food in a restaurant, Kendall enters their lives and proves to be another complication that Griffin feels he must fight.

I found this story to be populated by believable and likeable characters, facing realistic situations with honest emotions.  Their lives demonstrate grace and healing as they live out their faith with humor and growing hope.

Catch a Falling Star is a well written and entertaining story that you won’t want to skip.  I’ll be watching for other books by this author!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review.
