The Daughters of the American Revolution, an organization that promotes historic preservation, education and patriotism, have brought up the point that students may be "historically illiterate" if they cannot read the cursive writing in historic documents.

Somethings to ponder: If you do away with cursive, then you make-way for another form of personal identification like permanent tattoos, body scans or I'd chips. If you can not read cursive, it also makes it easier to rewrite the collective history of a society, and more difficult for individuals to verify primary historical documents...wills, birth certificates, the U.S. Constitution...
