Faith Under Fire- Renovation House: Responding To Alcoholism and Addiction

08.13.15 | Sarah Harnisch

Excessive alcohol use led to approximately 88,000 deaths and 2.5 million years of potential life lost each year in the United States from 2006 – 2010, shortening the lives of those who died by an average of 30 years. Excessive drinking was responsible for 1 in 10 deaths among working-age adults. It affects millions of Americans, yet Christians don't talk about it. There is a home in Spencer, New York that takes in men that are addicted, and, through a Christ-centered program, rehabilitates them. It's called Renovation House. This week's Faith Under Fire is about alcohol in the church. To learn more about Renovation House, or give to their ministry, go here.

Penn Ave. United Methodist Church in Pine City supports them with special offerings, and through our food cupboard. In return, they come to give testimonies at least once a year. It is so uplifting to hear how the lives are being changed through this wonderful ministry. God is doing amazing things there !
