Thomas Rogal is a PennDOT worker who saw the bird near Tamaqua.

Rogal parked his car and set up flares to protecting the bird until emergency workers arrived.

It took two police cars and an animal rescue team to get the huge bird off the road.

It was so badly injured it had to be euthanized, but Rogal says he was still glad he was there.

Rogal says the experience help changed his thinking about the majestic birds.
