The Pennsylvania House Got Into A Heated Debate Over College Professor Background Checks This Week

After the Jerry Sandusky scandal, 24 child protection bills passed last year.  But Pennsylvania State Representative Scott Conklin created an exemption for professors with limited access to minors.

State Rep. Doyle Heffley's amendment could change this.

Some were concerned over the cost of background checks, and that's when the infighting cranked up.

If the bill passes the House, it would be on to the Senate, a chamber whose majority leader is Jake Corman who represents Penn State University.
