Patient Brokering A Growing Concern In New York

It's part of a new public awareness campaign in the Empire State.

The practice is where brokers collect payments from addiction treatment providers in exchange for referring patients to those programs.

State officials are warning New Yorkers about these brokers, and if you encounter one to report them.

You can do that by calling or emailing the state Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
