New York Lawmakers Need To Iron Out Budget Issues This Week

03.28.16 |

The heat is on for Gov. Cuomo and legislative leaders as they work out a state budget deal and decide whether it will raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

Lawmakers are required to pass a new budget before Friday, when the state's fiscal year begins. To accomplish that, a deal must be struck today so the budget bills can age for three days before they are voted upon.

Sticky issues for resolution include the minimum wage, education funding, family leave, and tax rates.
