A new study by Zippa has found Empire State residents are the fifth most stressed in the country, behind New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, and California.

Researchers found New Yorkers have the longest commute in the country and an extremely high cost of living.

Each state's level of stress was based on commute times, unemployment, hours worked, population density, home price to income ratio, and what percent of the population is insured.

Pennsylvania came in 26th place, and Iowa was last.
