Giving The Greenlight Bill A Go In Ny

Sources say the state Senate will hold a vote this week on a measure that would extend access to driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants living in New York.

The legislation previously passed this month in the Assembly and with two days until the legislature is scheduled to conclude this session lawmakers are running out of time to make a ruling.

Advocates argue it would boost traffic safety, while also enabling undocumented immigrants to drive to work.

Opponents say the bill could lead to fraud and abuse.
