Former Penn State Football Players Are Asking For Joe Paternos Statue To Be Restored

Among the fallout from the Jerry Sandusky scandal was the school's 2012 decision to remove the statue of Joe Paterno that had stood outside the stadium for more then a decade.

The legendary coach, who died that year, had been fired in 2011 for not doing enough to prevent his longtime assistant coach from abusing children.

200 Former letter men, going back to Penn State teams from the 1950s, have penned a letter, which was sent to the university's president and board of trustees asking to have the statue restored and for a public apology to Paterno's wife.
