Alcohol Will Be Sold Earlier In New York On Sunday Mornings

Lawmakers announced they have agreed to allow restaurants to sell alcohol at 10 a.m. instead of noon to accommodate brunches. The deal also allows restaurants to get up to 12 waivers a year to sell liquor as early as 8 a.m.

The law takes effect 60 days after the governor signs it.

Pro family groups say there's no reason why alcohol needs to be on sale that early in the day, and it could lead to more drunk driving crashes.
