Contentment Defined

The battle for contentment rages in each and every life.

I know I need to go to school on this one.

But then again so did the Apostle Paul:

Philippians 4:11,13 (ESV)
" ..... for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.....
I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Did you catch that phrase "....I have learned'?

Even a spiritual giant like Paul had to enroll in  Contentment 101.

Life provides the tests.

The Lord provides the answers.

I like this thought from Sinclair Ferguson:

"Christian contentment is the direct result of having no higher ambition than to belong to the Lord and to be totally at His disposal in the place He appoints, at the time He chooses, and with the provision He is pleased to make."

I need to memorize this!

You never know when a pop quiz is on the way.

Thanks for the quote! I'm using it in my Church bulletin this Sunday.
