Don't Wreck It!

Tonight my family went to see Disney's Wreck It Ralph at the movie theatre. It's gotten to be so expensive to see movies out that we hardly ever go anymore. After hearing the Plugged In Movie Review of this one, we decided it was worth it. Plus, we're big Disney fans.
Not to give anything away, Ralph's role in the Fix it Felix Jr. game is to tear apart the apartment building, so Felix can rebuild it. It's a thankless job, and Ralph ventures out, to find fulfillment.
It got me thinking about the jobs God gives us to do for His kingdom. How often have you done something, with no glory, no privledge, and no fun? But you know there is an eternal benefit. Press on! Be assured that your reward does not wait for you on earth, but in an eternal realm.
Jesus was clear in Matthew 6: Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
It doesn't matter what other people think about our calling! If you are working under a clear directive from God, that's all that matters. Don't seek recognition and certainly don't expect it. Be thankful for what you have been given.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1Timothy 6:6
At the end of "Wreck It Ralph," our hero gets his fufilment. His circumstances don't change at all, but his perspective does. Often I wonder if I would be more joyful and thankful if I would look at my lot with a heavenly perspective, and not a carnal one.
Even when you're doing all the work, and a Felix is getting all the credit, remember your heavenly Father knows your heart and holds your eternal reward!
