Blame It On The Rain

Oh my word, it's raining! Or is it Ugh, it's raining? How is it that something simple like rain can bring up so many emotions?  How can there be some many songs about one kind of precipitation?  "I Wish It Would Rain Down," "Healing Rain," and who can forget Milli Vanilli, "Blame it on the Rain." (Sorry if that song is stuck in your head for the rest of the day.)  God's word says rain serves many purposes:  refreshing, replenishing, making the Earth fruitful.  And it comes in due season.  So if the rain makes you feel calm, and happy, and cozy well, praise God!  If it makes you cold and cranky, know it'll be gone soon enough.

And if you want to check what the Word says about rain, here are some verses to get you started:
Psalm 68:9
Hebrews 6:7
Leviticus 26:4

And above all else, give God glory for the day He's given you, no matter the weather!

I have always enjoyed the rain, and as you said, it can be so refreshing and relaxing. My favorite rainy days have been on vacation - free to take the time to slow down, listen to the sound of the rain, lift my face to it, and take the opportunity to have a good nap or curl up with a good book. God always knows what we need to replenish our spirits and for me, it's often a "shower of blessings" in the liquid form!
