Neighborhoods in the Network / Real Christmas (Waterloo, NY)

12.03.08 | Martha Manikas-Foster

It's the story of Jesus Christ---beginning with Isaiah's Old Testament prophesy and ending with the Resurrection---and it's all acted out along Waterloo, NY's Main Street. Not surprisingly, it's an event that has been known as The Real Christmas. There's a twist this year, with the live sheep and wandering Wise Men scheduled for a Friday in December instead of a Saturday. Join Martha Manikas-Foster in this "Neighborhoods in the Network" report to learn how this tradition has expanded into a two-day event and taken on a new title: The New Real Christmas and More.

The story of Jesus will be featured on Friday, December 5. Vendors, a chili contest, wood and ice sculpting and more are scheduled for Saturday, December 6. To find out more about Waterloo's The New Real Christmas, phone Edwin or Jean Nelson at (315) 539-9668.
