Neighborhoods In The Network / Mapping and Geocaching (Elmira, NY)
10.01.08 |
You can learn to wield a compass and read a topographic map---and maybe find some chocolate in the process! Join Martha Manikas-Foster to learn about Tanglewood Nature Center and Museum’s Basic Mapping instruction for families and children. The event will be held on Saturday, October 4th, from 2:30 until 4:00pm, and it includes a scavenger hunt for candy treasures in the woods.
Later in the month you can build on your mapping skills with a geocaching session on October 18th. For additional information on Tanglewood’s year-round nature programming, log onto tanglewoodnaturecenter.com.
