National School Bullying Awareness Week highlights a long-existing problem that's risen to new heights: the mistreatment of human beings that's always been part of community cultures, now assisted by technology specially suited to amplify the misery involved. By one accounting, almost 30 percent of teens in the U.S. have been involved as either targets, or been bullies themselves.

Here's a look at the state of bullying ... and what's being done to help combat it.

Hi, I was listening to FLN around the 5pm hour and there was a woman speaking about bullying being a result of teaching of evolution.
I get her perspective, but w/my background in behavioral science and education, being in schools, and being a Mom, I guess I don't agree wholly with her opinions. I am a Christian and believe we are definitely created in the image of God.
I also think that many schools don't just teach evolution, as, for instance, only Darwinism, etc. I think they teach different theories, but don't necessarily back up one theory. They probably teach adaptation, etc - but even people do adapt, as do animals.
I believe much, in the order of bullying, may be caused by many different reasons:

neglect - in the home, making children feel inferior and have low self confidence

being a victim themself

lack of discipline

From what I know about psychology, sociology, and victimology, I believe that bullies target others to try and "lift" themself above another person. Or, they see others do it and feel like they have to do what their peers are doing to feel like they're involved and can be accepted.

I really don't believe that people bully because of schools not teaching that we are created in God's image.
