Neighborhoods in the Network / Fall Foliage Festival (Cohocton, NY)
10.03.07 |
There are changes in the air for the Cohocton Fall Foliage Festival's tree sitting contest, one of western New York's most well-known festivals. In response to the challenge of aging sugar maple trees and a volunteer worker shortage, organizers have recast the contest into one with Survivor show flair, with team challenges that promise to make the contest more exciting to join---and to watch. Join Martha Manikas-Foster for this look into an event that has drawn the attention of the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and Paul Harvey and Charles Kuralt.
