Inside Out 44: Discipleship 2-1-2
How long has it been since you revisited The Great Commission?
Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Jesus was pretty clear about our marching orders.
But many of us only focus on part of the plan: bringing people to faith in Christ.
What about helping them mature and grow in the faith?
What about someone helping us to do the same?
It doesn’t just happen.
And I think one of the reasons for the lack of biblical literacy and obedience among Christians today is tied into this lack of discipleship.
Can you name anyone who made the commitment to pour themselves into your life one-on-one?
Is there at least one person you have poured yourself into?
These questions haunted Stuart Migdon for years.
So he began to be more intentional about all of this.
And what God taught him in the process is summed up this way: 2-1-2.
Disciple 2 people, 1 time per week for 2 months.
Just think how much impact our lives could have on other believers!
That’s a great way to spend a life isn’t it?
Check out my conversation with Stuart. As a bonus we talk about how God has worked in his life behind the scenes. If you wonder how God can use even you, I know this podcast will be a blessing!
