Inside Out 15: Before You Live Together

11.04.10 | Kurt Goff

io-live-togetherCouples choosing to live together before marriage.

It’s obvious this has been going on for a long time in our culture.

But what about couples who claim to be Christians?

Is there any meaningful difference in how they process this decision when compared to those who don’t know Christ?

Before you answer, let me give you a hint:

Many of those who are actively involved in premarital counseling (pastors for example) say the Church at large might be shocked to know the truth.

Granted, we know that sexual intimacy before marriage is sin, plain and simple.

But this is a multi-faceted and complex subject.

Especially when it involves you or someone you love.

Beginning with the abysmal stats on those who go on to marry after living together and moving into what God’s Word has to say about all of this, pastor David Gudgel confronts the issue head on.

His book “Before You Live Together” is loaded with helpful content.

But maybe you don’t have the time to read it.

Or have the money to buy it.

And yet this is a topic that hits very close to home for you.

Set aside some time and check out my conversation with David.

Our discussion went down many avenues but hopefully avoided all of the dead end streets.
