Worship Leader At Nations Largest Church Says Workers May Need A Break From Church

Should exhausted men make it to church? The worship leader of America's largest congregation says on occasion, some hard-working guys may need their Sabbath rest more then they need fellowship. Israel Houghton, worship leader at Houston's Lakewood Church, which has a membership of 43-thousand people, said "in some cases, men are having to hold down two or three jobs to keep it all together. The housing market has dropped on him, that adds pressure on the household. If he gets three hours to himself, he might take it, and he might not go to church." He said "I came from a society that villified that dude. Now, I say, if you can come to church that's cool, but if not, handle your business. Take care of your family. And spend some time with job. That's not a popular message for a man that leads worship in the largest church in America."
