Winter Storm Hones In On Ny Pa

The first day of spring is Wednesday. Before we usher it in though, another snowstorm is on its way. It'll start this afternoon, mostly as sleet and freezing rain. Utica, New York could see 12 inches of snow; 6 to 8 inches of snow is due for Montrose and Oneonta, 4 to 6 for Bath, Elmira, Binghamton, Tonawanda and Wilkes-Barre; 2 to 4 for Penn Yann, Ithaca and Syracuse. It'll be a non-issue for those in western New York and western Pennsylvania. There's also expected to be a coating of ice on the road for just about all of us. The worst part of it, though, is that a high pressure system over Greenland will keep a cold flow of air over us through the end of March. Winter is going out like a lion.
