White House To Send Letters To Families Of Military Suicides

In a change of policy, the White House will begin sending letters of condolence to the families of military members who commit suicide while serving in a combat zone. President Obama announced the decision in a statement, saying he's "committed to removing the stigma associated with the unseen wounds of war." Obama said these Americans have borne the incredible burden of war and deserve to be honored for their service. The President ordered the change after a difficult and exhaustive review of the former policy.
