What Would Gas Drilling Cost

More then 250 doctors have penned a letter to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo-- asking him to take a look at how the health of gas drilling workers would be impacted-- before he signs any bill allowing Marcellus Shale drilling in New York. The state health department did a study on the impacts of drilling-- but didn't include any numbers on what it would cost for injuries or worsening health among people living near gas wells, compressor stations, and waste pits. Some say it wouldn't be tough-- to get the numbers. One expert says he believes if it were presented to the DEC, that they would take that into account, adding that there are plenty of professionals to perform the study. cuomo has not responded to the letter yet.
