(Orlando, FL)  --  The death Wednesday of trainer Dawn Brancheau at Sea World by a killer whale has raised many safety issue questions.  Julie Scardina, a former trainer and now Sea World Ambassador, says just like all of those who work with the giant mammals, Brancheau was passionate about what she did.

The 40-year-old Brancheau drowned after she was grabbed by the whale named Tilikum or "Telly" and pulled under water during a "Dine with Shamu" event at the Orlando theme park. Scardina denies reports that the whale was uncooperative during the show.

An investigation into the deadly incident is now underway by the Orange County, Florida Sheriff's Office.  OSHA has also sent one of their field representatives to the scene to conduct their own probe.

Julie Scardina says the trainer who was killed would not want the whale to be destroyed.
