(Niagara Falls) -- A Western New York-based company will recreate the weather conditions that faced Continental Flight 3407 back in February. Calspan has been evaluating how pilots deal with in-flight emergencies for over ten years. The company's one-of-a-kind in-flight simulator is an airplane equipped with a programmable flight control system that teaches pilots how to recover from different problems that may occur during flight.

Unlike other simulators, Calspan's simulator works in the sky, under real-world conditions, rather than on the ground. Today, Calspan pilots will simulate the final moments of Flight 3407, the flight that killed all 49 people aboard and one person on the ground, in the air.
