Vets Lose With Govt Shutdown

Veterans Affairs Secretary Erik Shinseki says nearly 4 million of America’s war heroes could lose their disability pay next month if the government shutdown lingers into late October.  More than half a million vets and their dependents will see their pension payments stopped.   President Obama is hosting House Republicans at the White House today to try and seek an end to the 10-day-old shutdown. The G-O-P insists that deficit reduction and Obama-Care be on the bargaining table if they’re going to agree to raise the nation’s debt ceiling.
