Starting today, you can find the Pope on YouTube. The Vatican is launching a channel on the video-sharing site where the Catholic faithful will be able to see Pope Benedict the 16th or church events. The site will reportedly carry video and audio footage of the Pontiff's speeches in the church's biggest venture ever into cyberspace.

The enterprise involves Google, the Vatican Television Center and Vatican Radio. The church will retain full control of the channel's content. The Vatican newspaper says the aim of the channel is to, quote, "secure the Pope's presence on the web." A Vatican spokesman says the Pope wants to reach out to the "digital generation."
