It was a bad day for Christian craft store Hobby Lobby. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor issued an order Wednesday refusing to block enforcement of the 2010 healthcare overhaul which begins next week. It means the arts and crafts chain Hobby Lobby and the Christian-themed bookstore chain Mardel Inc. could face fines of up to 1.3 million dollars a day if they don't purchase healthcare plans for their employees that include abortive contraception. Sotomayor said in her ruling that both for-profit companies didn't qualify for an injunction while they battle that requirement in court.
