The United States is taking an active role in the prayer case out of Greece, New York. The solicitor general of the United States plans to weigh in during upcoming arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court over prayers offered before town board meetings in Greece. The government's request to participate was filed September 12th, and it determines the position of the United States on legal matters before the court. The news is good for Christians. The solicitor general, Donald Verilli, is expected to defend prayer, saying it does not violate the U.S. constitution.
