The largest detention center in Iraq has been shut down by the U.S. military. Today's closure of Camp Bucca, near Kuwait, came about under a bilateral security deal hammered out last year which will have U.S. forces scale down their detention program in Iraq. Bucca held as many as 14-thousand detainees at one time. A group of 180 was flown to another military prison in Baghdad. Under the security agreement, the U.S. must release detainees who don't face Iraqi arrest warrants or detention orders. The closure of Bucca, leaves approximately 83-hundred detainees in U.S. custody in two detention centers around Baghdad.
