Upstate Ny Soldier Dies

  An upstate New York soldier has died in Afghanistan. Cohcocton's Devin Snyder-- just 20 years old-- was a specialist in the U.S. Army Military Police. She was killed Sunday by an improvised explosive device near Mehter Lam, Afghanistan. Three other U.S. Army members in the vehicle with her were also killed. Snyder was due to come home in July for a 2-week visit. Snyder's dather, former Cohocton Mayor Edward Snyder is a U.S. Navy veteran, and her two siblings, Natasha and Damien, currently serve in the U.S. Navy and Army.
