Andres Escalera, 22, and Jonathan O. Rivera, 25, both of Geneva, are believed to be armed and dangerous. Two men who were with them are now in custody. They are: Alexander Rodriguez, of Geneva and Jose Gomez Santiago, of Geneva. They are charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm. Shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday, police said they received a call for the report of gunshots on East North Street in Geneva. Police were given a vehicle description and a short time later, they found that vehicle along Route 96, not far from the Thruway exit. Authorities said when officers tried to stop the vehicle, a chase began. The vehicle crashed heading north on Route 96. Police said four suspects ran from the car and that one of the suspects displayed a gun and pointed it at a Geneva Police officer. They said that officer shot the suspect in the arm. The suspect was then taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A second suspect was apprehended overnight. Police said he walked out of the woods and into custody. Police said handguns were discovered in the vehicle. A helicopter was seen scouring nearby wooded areas, while deputies closed off a number of roads that intersect Route 96. Those roads were reopened by Monday morning. A hyper reach message went out to residents in the area to notify them of police activity. 13WHAM spoke to several people who live along Route 96 who couldn't get home and were worried about their families. They described a very intense scene. Police told residents to call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
