Unemployment Not Stock Markets Hit Churches Hard

The recession is over, but it's still hitting American churches. The cover of USA today on Monday showed though the National Bureau of Economic Research determined the recession is over, 79 percent of churches report the economy is hurting their ministries. Scott Mcconnell of Lifeway Research explained because members give in direct proportion to their income, Christian churches are more impacted by unemployment then the stock market. Until unemployment turns around, it will impact the church.
