Toyota is recalling more than one and a half million cars to fix a brake-related problem that may cause fluid leaks.  The world's biggest carmaker will be repairing more than 599-thousand vehicles in Japan and another 740-thousand in the U.S. in addition to a small number of vehicles in China.  The U.S. recall includes Toyota Avalon, Highlander Lexus GS300, Lexus IS250 and Lexus IS350 models.

In announcing the recall, Toyota said in some cases, a small amount of brake fluid can leak from the brake master cylinder causing a drop in braking performance.  News of the latest recall comes as Toyota tries to regain customer trust and market share after recalling more than eight million vehicles globally for defects linked to unintended acceleration.
