Thruway Meets Today No Word On Tollway Increases

The New York State Thruway meets today, but they are mum on a 45-percent toll hike for trucks on the state's longest tolled road. The Thruway board is set to discuss a bridge in the lower Hudson Valley, but the toll hike was left off their agenda. It will be the board's first full gathering since August, and the hike was supposed to go into effect last October. The State Director of the National Federation of Businesses says the wait, from May to Christmas, has kept businesses and tollpayers hostage the whole time, waiting to see how it will impact their finances.
