Threat Against President Obama
11.01.11 |

A Halloween-themed graphic featuring a zombie President Barack Obama provoked widespread outrage and caught the attention of the Secret Service. A local Republican committee in Virginia used the graphic, which portrayed an undead Obama with a bullet hole in his forehead, to scare up interest in Halloween parade political activities. The montage, a banner on a mass e-mail to Loudoun Republicans, uses Halloween images of Democratic lawmakers and a throng of zombie Obama supporters. Democrats are crying foul and Virginia's Republican Governor has denounced the image as "Shameful and offensive." Governor Bob Mcdonnell is calling on the Loudoun GOP to apologize. Virginia GOP Chairman Pat Mullins said such an image, quote, "Has no place in our politics. Ever." Loudoun County GOP Chairman, Mark Sell, said in an e-mail response to the Associated Press that the graphic was, quote, "A light-hearted attempt to inject satire humor into the Halloween holiday" and has apologized to the President and anyone else who was offended. The Secret Service says they are aware of the situation, but did not mention a potential investigation
