The Ticks Are Hungry This Year In Ny Pa

Insect experts are warning people living in New York and Pennsylvania about an abundance of ticks this spring. Each year, thousands of people get Lyme disease, but this year is expected to be worse.  It's because the acorn crop was small this year, and as a result, mice didn't have much to eat and went elsewhere to look for food.  Without mice, there wasn't a lot for ticks to feed on, so there are a lot of hungry ticks right now.  Experts also say about 55 percent of the deer ticks they've tested this spring carry Lyme disease.
