The President Declares June Lgbt Month
06.02.11 |
President Obama signed legislation this week declaring June as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender month. To be clear here-- a proclamation isn't a national holiday; it's something that has to be re-declared every single year. The president called the LGBT lifestyle a "struggle"-- and promised dignity and fairness. Only 3-percent of all Americans identify themselves as lesbian, gay, or bisexual, and only 3-tenths of one percent-- identify themselves as transgender. Despite that, recent gallup polls show more then half of all Americans-- 56-percent-- say gay relations are morally acceptable, and 40-percent said they believed being gay was "something a person was born with." Support for homosexuality hit a record high this year in America. Focus On The Family says the President has made homosexuality a top priority for his administration-- to the detriment of the family.
