Survey Democrats Are Less Religious

Are Democrats out of touch with the average American? A new Gallup poll questioned American Democrats and Republicans about their churchgoing habits. According to the Christian Post, the survey found a majority of Democrats, 52 percent, seldom or never attend church. The research also shows the percentage of Democrats that attend church weekly dropped two percentage points to just 27 percent since President Obama took the Oval Office in 2008. Of those polled, 37 percent identified themselves as "liberals." Gallup summarized their survey by saying, "All in all, Democrats remain less white, more female, more liberal, less religious, and less likely to be married than the general population."
