Study Maps The Safest Roads In The Us

If you're planning a road trip-- you likely want the best deals on hotels, resorts or restaurants. But what about the safest highways? Triple-A is working with 8 states in a pilot program to map out their safest roads. It would show which roads have the highest rates of traffic deaths and serious injuries, and which are rated highest because of their engineering features. Peter Kissinger, the President and CEO of the AAA Foundation, says the information could be used in the next 2 to 3 years to map the nation's safest and deadliest corridors; enabling you to pick 5-star roads just like you pick a 5-star car to drive. He says you could get in a car, turn on the navigation system, and map not only the quickest way to get somewhere-- but the safest way.
