The University of Rochester has opened the first stem cell research clean room in New York State. It means stem cell research will be expedited in a brand new 3.5 million dollar facility. The room opened Wednesday at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Some welcomed the research, saying it one day may help restore the crushed limbs of army veterans. Others were more wary, wanting to know if embryonic stem cells will be used in any of the testing. The group will be honing in on incurable diseases, from cancer to severed spinal cords, using grant money from the Empire Stem Cell Board.
