The largest flag in New York State was raised in Western New York yesterday. Retired Col. Patrick Cunningham said, "The flag itself is a 30 by 60 foot flag, 1,800 square feet. Which to the best of our knowledge is the largest flag in New York state right now.... It will serve as a beacon to downtown Buffalo." Put up right on the waterfront, the flag flies at the top of a 100 foot pole atop a three ton tower at Buffalo's Naval and Military Park. The flag is a tribute to 100 years of service by the Buffalo Rotary Club.
