Stalled Womens Act

The State Senate and Assembly passed separate versions of Cuomo's bill friday; the senate, leaving out any mention of abortion expansion. The question now is-- should the assembly, come fall, take up the 9 parts of the bill separately to get them passed-- or take another look at the abortion measure? A coalition of 850 women's groups are split; some want the historic women's measures passed, and fear abortion will hold up a bill on workplace discrimination and domestic violence protection. Others-- want all or nothing. One thing is sure: the bill will be eyed again, once the next session starts.
