Spitzer Weiner Top Names In New Poll Of Nyc Races

Days after launching his city comptroller bid, former governor Spitzer shot to a 48-33 percent lead over Democratic rival Scott Stringer among registered Democrats in the Quinnipiac University poll released Monday. Ex-congressman Anthony Weiner is also doing well in his comeback bid among those polled. He gets 25 percent of the Democratic primary vote for mayor in the poll. Rivals Christine Quinn gets 22 percent, William Thompson 11 percent and Bill de Blasio 10 percent. Spitzer and Weiner also have been the top percentage getters in some previous polls. The poll surveyed 738 registered Democrat. Its margin of error is 3.6 percentage points.
