Southern Tier Group Gets Nasa Cash

A group in the SouthernTier has won a rare grant from N.A.S.A. The Dr. Nelson Ying Tri-Region Science and Engineering Fair, or Ying-Tri-Sef for short, is holding Steuben Science Summer starting this weekend. They're able to do it because they got cash directly from N.A.S.A.. Coordinator Mary Eileen Wood says the group went to N.A.S.A. and said "if you want to be part of the wonderful things we're doing, please give us this grant. They recognized the opportunity to multiply the impact of what our fair and the community had already started."
What is Steuben Science Summer, and why should your kids go? There will be a model of the solar system that is over a eighth of a mile long, rocket launches, packets of gear that flew in the International Space Station.
If you live in or near Big Flats, Elmira, Hornell, Bath, Addison, Cohocton, Prattsburgh, Woodhull, Corning, or would drive a bit to get there, this big-town nasa-funded science fair is something you won't want to miss. For more information, go here.
