Shuttle Launch Attempt Scrubbed Due To Hydrogen Leak

(Cape Canaveral, FL)  --  Today's planned launch of Space Shuttle Discovery has been scrubbed because of a hydrogen gas leak.  The leak was detected just as teams at the launch pad were finishing up the fueling process.  NASA has not set a new launch date or determined what might be needed to fix the problem.

Last year, two shuttle missions experienced lengthy delays because of similar hydrogen leaks, but there haven't been any problems since then.  The current launch window for Discovery closes on Sunday.  There's a chance it could be pushed to Monday, but if Discovery doesn't fly by then the mission will be delayed until December.
