Senator Specter To Write Book On Final Days

While Arlen Specter's days in the Senate may be numbered, his book-writing days are certainly not. In an interview, Pennsylvania's longest-serving senator announced he is writing a third book that will chronicle the turbulent end of his political career. Specter said the book will focus primarily on the last two years when he shocked fellow senators by ditching the GOP, which gave Democrats a majority vote but cost him the primary election last month. His first memoir, entitled "Passion for Truth," was published in 2000, while his second book, "Never Give In: Battling Cancer in the Senate," was released in 2008.
