Scouts Vote To Allow Gay Youth

The Boy Scouts of America have voted to allow gay youth. As of january, kids that are gay can openly share their orientation at scout meetings. John Stemberger is founder of On my honor dot net. He says the scout board caved to pressure. "They responded to activists-- some inside, but mostly outside. They just pounded them." He says this will have sweeping impacts on the scouts. "It's going to sexualize and politicize the program. It's a sad day for the Boy Scouts of America."

The Scouts say it will make them more accessible, and they don't see how it can possibly be a bad thing. 60 percent of the vote went in favor of the gay rights movement Thursday.

Stemberger predicts a dramatic loss in membership, churches that won't host meetings, and possible lawsuits.
